This Cedar Park master bath hadn't changed since the house was built. We gutted it down to the studs and rebuilt it into something the owners actually wanted to spend the morning getting ready in!
Floor-to-ceiling marble tile, a freestanding soaking tub, a glass-enclosed shower with brushed gold fixtures, and custom oak vanities with marble countertops. The result is a space that feels less like a bathroom and more like a reason to stay home.

04 - The DREAM, REALIZED
We interviewed the homeowners and here is what they had to say about their experience working with Jace & Bowen Custom Builders:
"I'm the type of person that wants to be involved in every aspect, but with Jace and Bowen I didn't need to be. It was easy, it was pleasant, and it was seamless. They went from one stage to the next and kept us informed the whole way through. No surprises, no chasing anyone down for updates. We trusted them enough to be in our home when we weren't even there, and that says a lot. This was our first time doing a complete bathroom renovation, and I won't lie, we ended up at the top of our budget range. But that wasn't on them. The range they gave us was accurate. I just went and picked what I wanted. They pointed us in the right direction on selections, helped us understand what things cost, and never made me feel like I had to compromise my vision. I knew I wanted it to feel like a spa, but still warm, not cold or modern. And that's exactly what we got. When I walk in there now, it feels like a retreat. That was the whole goal."
“Jace and Bowen did a fantastic job on my bathroom remodel! Trades were very prompt and friendly. Responsiveness to questions was fast and accurate. Michael and Alec are talented builders!"

03 - The BUILD
This was the homeowners' first complete bathroom renovation, and like most first-timers, the final number landed closer to the top of their budget range than the bottom. They'll be the first to tell you that wasn't on the builder. The range Jace and Bowen provided was accurate.
When it came to selections, they had the freedom to choose what they wanted, and they used it thoughtfully. With this not being their forever home, they stayed practical, and the design guidance they received helped them make choices that fit both their vision and their budget without having to sacrifice one for the other.
One of those choices was steering away from marble. They knew its characteristics going in and decided it didn't add the warmth they desired. They wanted something spa-like but not cold or "modern." When you walk into a bathroom, you're really looking at three things: the shower, the tub, and the vanity. The shower is glass. The tub is white porcelain. So the vanity is where the personality lives. The wood, the stain, the hardware, the countertop: those are the selections that pulled everything together and made the space have the warmth they desired .
02 - The challenge
The project had its share of structural decisions too, the kind that don't show up in the final photos as design choices but shape everything about how a space is finished. The tub faucet needed to be repositioned to the side rather than the end in order for the larger shower to exist in the footprint... which meant breaking up the slab to move the pipes. A wall-mounted faucet was on the table, but the tub sits on the north side of the house, and after dealing with frozen pipes before, the homeowners weren't willing to take that risk. There was also the practical reality our team pointed out: pipes in the wall mean cutting into the wall if something ever goes wrong.
So they mounted the faucet on the tub deck instead. It costs a little interior tub space, but it was the right call. The smarter choice for the long run, and that's what good renovation decision-making looks like.

01 - The vision
The shower is what started it all. No matter how much it was cleaned, the glass stayed cloudy and the space felt dingy. After years of trying to make it work, this family was done settling. The whole bathroom had aged with the house 20 years! What they wanted in its place was the opposite of 90's: clean, minimal, and calm, a spa feeling without the fuss. The old bathroom always felt cluttered and dark. Our goal was to give them a retreat to escape to from a full and busy day.
One of the most meaningful goals for this renovation was a larger shower. But with the existing footprint, that meant a smaller tub, and the tub gets used often. It was a real tradeoff, and one the homeowners had to sit with. This is where having an experienced builder makes a difference. Not every idea survives contact with the actual space, but the right team helps you work through those decisions so what you end up with still feels intentional, not like a compromise.
